Curb & Gutter to Begin South of East Lake Avenue

This past week the contractor installed water main along Bellwood Lane at the Greenwood Road intersection, near Longmeadow Drive and East Lake Avenue, and within the East Lake Avenue easement near the pedestrian bridge. The contractor also began installing new water services to homes north of East Lake Avenue where the existing water main has been tested.

Last week, south of East Lake Avenue, no work was performed on-site.

South of East Lake Avenue: Next week, the contractor is anticipating to complete the storm sewer improvements. The contractor will also complete the abandonment of the fire hydrants and water valves on the old water main system.

The contractor will begin spot concrete curb & gutter removal and replacements on Longmeadow Drive south of East Lake Avenue next week. Additional information will be passed along to residents regarding the procedures during this process, including parking restrictions and access to driveways.

North of East Lake Avenue: The contractor will begin performing the required testing on the remaining sections of water main not previously tested. The contractor will continue to install water services along Bellwood Lane, Ralmark Lane, and Longmeadow Drive in areas that have been previously tested and approved.

The contractor has scheduled to bring a second crew to help with water services on the north side of East Lake Avenue starting on Friday, August 16th. Starting on Monday, August 19th, a third crew is scheduled to be on-site working on the south side of East Lake Avenue performing the remaining underground utility work and begin removing the concrete curb & gutter marked to be replaced. Immediately following the concrete curb & gutter removal, the concrete sub-contractor will be on-site to begin forming and pouring the new concrete curb & gutter.

During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off. The contractor will attempt to give each resident approximately 1 hour notice prior to turning of the water to install the water service.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.
