Directional Drilling Complete

This past week the contractor installed water main along Bellwood Lane between Ralmark Lane and Greenwood Road, made the connection to the existing system along Longmeadow Drive (North) and Bellwood Lane that leads to St. Catherine’s Church and School, and performed directional drilling of the 12-inch water main along the East Lake Avenue Easement. All of the water main scheduled to be installed via directional drilling has been completed. The remaining water main installation will be installed via open cut methods.

Last week, south of East Lake Avenue, no work was performed on-site.

South of East Lake Avenue: Next week, the contractor is anticipating to complete the storm sewer improvements. The contractor will also complete the abandonment of the fire hydrants and water valves on the old water main system.

The contractor will begin spot concrete curb & gutter removal and replacements on Longmeadow Drive south of East Lake Avenue in the near future. Additional information will be passed along to residents regarding the procedures during this process, including parking restrictions and access to driveways.

North of East Lake Avenue: Next week, the contractor will complete the water main installation at the Bellwood and Greenwood Road intersection and installation of water main along Longmeadow Drive near East Lake Avenue. The contractor will also begin performing the required testing on the remaining sections of water main not previously tested. The contractor will likely begin installing water services later in the week within the areas of water main previously tested and ready for water service installation.

During water service installation and connection to the existing service, water to individual homes will be shut off for a short period of time. The contractor will knock on the door of any home that will not have water prior to turning it off. The contractor will attempt to give each resident approximately 1 hour notice prior to turning of the water to install the water service.

Thank you for your added patience and cooperation on Wednesday during an unanticipated water main shut down that effected most of the project site north of East Lake Avenue due to complications encountered while making the connection to the St. Catherine’s Church & School.

Thank you for your patience during the construction operations.
